Help me decide on DVD – too many options and choices?
I need a hard drive specifically for burning video and data DVDs, but I'm always undecided if there are so many options and brands around. It also seems that the newer models with higher speeds are always pushed out into the market every few months. LightScribe is not important, but it would be nice to have. Dual Layer writing is important, but I'm sure most of the units are passed to this option as standard. My questions are .. 1. Will be a working internal drive for me, or I need to find a specific size? (I have a Gateway desktop with a 5.25-inch drive bay) 2. Which brand is cheaper? (I have heard LiteOn, Samsung, as among the leaders .. what about Memorex?) 3. If I bought a 16x DVD-R write speed drive today How long you think before it becomes obsolete? I can already see the 18x and 20x models coming soon. I could have answered all my questions, but I would appreciate any comments and suggestions help me towards my purchase. Thanks you guys:)
